ESSENCE

Partner

Description

ESSENCE aims at transforming the lessons learnt from the COVID-19 in a huge opportunity that exploits technology toward a deep evolution of the services targeting vulnerable populations: non- or pre-frail seniors, and children of the first years of primary school. To contribute to the public health response in the context of the ongoing epidemic, and preparedness for future emergencies, ESSENCE aims at boosting the creation of a new model of home-based care that relies on stimulation, remote monitoring, tele-assistance, and connection between users, families, and professionals.

ESSENCE builds upon the results of MoveCare H2020 and adopts an iterative optimization process between two pillars - technology transfer of a subset of successful modules and feedback received from testing on target users – with the final target of achieving CE mark and promptly entering the mark

AQUATIME

Partner

Description

The AquaTime solution consists of an intelligent Puck to which different drinking vessels (e.g. cups, mugs, glasses and bottles) can be attached. The Puck has built-in sensors that measures different types of data (e.g. weight, temperature and acceleration). The Puck includes some LEDs and a loudspeaker so that it can give reminders to the user if the consumed liquid volume is lower than planned. Battery lifetime is, under normal use, several weeks, and can be recharged using a power cable. The drinking vessel can be made of plastic, glass or ceramics and be of almost any shape and size. The drinking vessels can be used with or without the Puck attached. The daily drinking status is shown on the Puck’s OLED-display in real time, whereas all historically collected data, is transferred to the cloud via the new narrow band protocol (part of the GSM mobile phone network without any setup needed from users). The data can be accessed from the cloud via a responsive website and can also be transferred to existing IT-based care platforms.

DRURAL

Description

ALTO

Socio

Description

Recently the beneficial psychological and physiological effects of certain aromas, used in combination with light therapy, have been demonstrated scientifically and shown to be robust and reproducible. Based upon this evidence the objective of this project is to create an affordable solution of high quality and with a high degree of end-user acceptance and product-market fit. The device will use the latest commercially relevant technologies within precise light and aroma release and digital wellness in combination with the project’s own “secret sauce”. Testing of various end-user-oriented aspects of the prototype device will be carried out on different types of +65 age end-users in Belgium, Denmark, Spain, and Taiwan. The testing and technical characterisation of the prototypes will be done using professional measurement equipment in-house and externally. All collected data, including biometric data collected using state-of-the-art methods and technology, will be used to improve the performance of the solution.

NETWORK of healthcare information for the elderly and the ecosystem of well-being

Description

SAINWEP aims to create a technological architecture that supposes an accelerator for the development of assistance tools focused on the well-being and health of the elderly, which may be useful for providers, health professionals and, ultimately, users as consumers and providers of information.

The project is guided by four main points in the sector of wearables devices focused on the health sector:

  • The aging of the world population
  • The impact of healthcare expenses, both care and treatment of chronic diseases.
  • The increase in the number of studies showing that wereable devices could be part of the solution.
  • The need for data interoperability.
